To achieve a healthy community, health care remains primordial to SPEF. SPEF aims to protect and improve health care in rural landscapes by addressing the structures and systems that define a place by supporting local people who live and survive in the rural landscape SPEF has a mobile health unit that is focused on providing health care knowledge to the rural people, especially in the North West Region of Cameroon. The team ensures that the local people have a broad knowledge of the importance of a healthy environment, making sure that the physical environment is clean and safe. It also ensures that the environment meets everyone’s basic needs. The environment promotes social harmony and actively involves everyone in the rural area.

We strive for the proper understanding of the connection between local health and environment issues.

. The mobile health unit does free screening for HIV AIDS, Malaria, Diabetes, and hypertension. It gives advice to people with these diseases. In case of management needs, or need medical care, patients are referred to the nearest government or health facility around the target area.

OUR HEALTHCARE TARGET

Target of 2022. At least 1000 people screened of diabetes and blood pressure in and around the Kimbi Fungom National park.

Projects/research

  • Assessing the nutritional status of infants in Menchum Division
  • Sensitisation of the local population in the control of malaria and typhoid
  • Sensitisation of the local population on the negative effects of hot drinks
