Climate Change Mitigation

SPEF is embarking on climate change campaign through the “cut one plant two” policy.

The ignorance of Climate change is one of the dilemmas peripheral communities are facing in most parts of Cameroon’s protected areas. This situation, though glaring throughout the country remains a tale to the peripheral communities in and around the Kimbi Fungom National Park, North West Region of Cameroon. Little knowledge is known about the growing effects in most communities except in schools where the causes and effects are thought of without any practical demonstration that could foster the understanding of the impacts of climate change on the people.

Designing programs and projects with goals to expose the climate change syndrome and practically enrich the indigenous knowledge on the climate change saga.

SPEF is out to design programs and projects that are going to expose the climate change syndrome and practically enrich the indigenous knowledge on the climate change saga. We are therefore concerned with ecosystem restoration both in the woody savanna, grassland savanna, and the degraded lowland of the Kimbi Fungom National Park and other protected areas in Cameroon.
